We were wondering where the weather had gone last week, well we all found out Tuesday night in Alexandra where it was. Half an hour before the start of the game the heavens opened, and we got soaked. But in traditional Irish summer fashion, it was gone in ten minutes. It did try to rain once or twice more but it held off and we got the game under way.

Last week the Renegades were beaten by the newly promoted Sluggers who pulled off the first big shock of the season with a comfortable 12-7 away win  in St. Anne's Park. With a 1-2 record on the season the Renegades come into tonight's game needing a win to kick start their season.

The first inning more or less told the story of the game. The Renegades sent four batters to the plate but could only get Cliodhna on, and stranding her on one. John Austin lead off and ground out to Noeleen on three, Hime hit a fly ball to Julie and Eva lined out to the pitcher.

Ken on the other hand hit a nice double into centre field and scored on some sloppy fielding. John got some revenge on Noeleen striking her out, but JC hit a single, Ruth moved him around and Carl scored him from second with another single.

In the second the Renegades took the lead, the Dodder infield misfiring a little. Some communication issues, lets say. Junior, playing right field lead off with a single, Phil walked, Tony got on with an E4, Mary and Drago singled. What the feck is going on. Luckily Phil was picked off going to two, and Marcia hit into a fielders choice so by the time Cliodhna struck out, three runs were on the board, but it could have been worse as they left two runners on base. Johnny Mc who was sitting on the sideline fresh from his trip to Disney Land, was not impressed.

Following a brief team talk where Johnny explained the complexities of the game, err kicked our ass, we got things fixed, quick. Over the next four innings we gave up a few hits but stranded a lot of runners and only gave up two runs.

Meanwhile the Dynamoe offence kicked into action. No big monsters this week, they weren't working. Julie tried twice only to be robbed by Tony in left field. Everybody else just hit singles and doubles, moved runners around the bags and played small ball.

Ken had another excellent night with the bat going 4 for 5, hit three doubles, scored four times and knocked in two RBIs. Martine showed the girls how to do it, going 3 for 3, scoring three before being pulled for Susan.
